Happy new year to you all.

Not sure if anyone has come across this before but basically, we have a client moving into a builing where the landlord uses Paxton P38 readers with Paxton encoded HITAG2 access cards.

Our client uses MIFARE and would like the ability to have a single card.

I know that HID manufacture a multi-format card with iClass + HITAG2 but obviously that's not encoded to Paxton's format.

Any ideas / solutions we could consider?

Thanks.

The readers are P38 which suggests Paxton only readers (or AA prox) but most likely Paxton as the card is a Paxton card.

So even if they were multi-format readers (i.e. P50 Mifare reader) the card still can't be read by a MIFARE reader, hence the need for a dual format card.

Conversation with Paxton this afternoon suggests that their readers can read HITAG2 cards but will only read the card number, so not as secure as Paxton's on format.

I'm awaiting a test card from HID to see if this works and let you know how it can go.

If it helps, Peters fobs that work with Scantronic/Menvier/Galaxy, work with Paxton.

Mine are EM not Mifare

Thanks for the mention though Jan

I know it works on the Paxton /AA universal readers but it doesn't work on the Paxton standard format

Wondering if you had any news on this? whether it worked or found a solution? I am currently looking for something like this and cannot seem to find anything anywhere.
