KissFm Ireland Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Had this system for a while but after christmas sound stopped on keypad, got that back..But now keypad will not accept code or orignal code (0123)...Found battery is pushing just over 8 volts (should be 12) but with this disconnected still will not accept any code...Is their a master over ride?; Quote
al-yeti Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Shouldnt be , means you maybe doing wrong code, how did you get sound back from keypad? Battery needs replacing regardless , did you try power cycling? Quote
KissFm Ireland Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Found broken cable and replaced, tries to power down and reset/reset but will not accept any code Quote
al-yeti Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Long shot maybe a key is stuck , maybe open it up seems you done everything else and clean it up, is it led version? House basher's will soon be here with better advice I am sure! Perhaps wiring incorrect double check what you fixed Quote
KissFm Ireland Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 New keypad fitted and still no joy...If battery not fitted it should reboot when set/set pressed after power on ..Maybe time to buy new one! Quote
KissFm Ireland Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Quick question is code stored in mother board or keypad? Quote
PeterJames Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 If the battery has been 8v for some time its gonna be the panel fooked Quote
KissFm Ireland Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Even with main power connected...It has never been on battery power Quote
PeterJames Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Even with main power connected...It has never been on battery power If the battery was connected to the control panel it would be drawing more current than the system is designed to supply, cooking the charging circuit. The system is designed to be powered from the battery and the PSU is constantly charging the battery. Quote
