David Andrews Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 ive got a texecom odessy 5e bell box - any way i can make the internal led's flash using a battery? The box is real but i havent got an alarm on the house. Quote
PeterJames Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Buy a dummy box and a flashing led, a real bellbox will draw far to much current the battery wont last Quote
petrolhead Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 A battery operated flashing led in the 5e housing eould be the simplest route. Poweing the sab without a panel connected will cause lots of issues you dont want to get involved in. Quote
norman Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Lots of options on fleabay Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
David Andrews Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 just tried a 9v battery on it and it flashes but unsure how long that would last Quote

al-yeti Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Anyway you can get a mains adaptor to power it from where you have mounted? Or as above easier to buy dummy bell led kits etc Quote
David Andrews Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 would  type D or 9 volt last longer? Quote
datadiffusion Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Sure, about 6 hours... Â #windup ? Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands Â
al-yeti Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 would type D or 9 volt last longer? Geezer it won't last Option1 strip out the bellbox and buy a flashing led kit with battery pack Option2 drill hole through wall use power adapter to power leds in stripped out bellbox What your doing as said above won't last Quote
