A friend has contacted me about his Veritas Excel. Apparently, the mains transformer is humming. I will not be able to look at it until next week but in the meantime does anyone else have experience of the transformer humming? I guess that this may be a replacement job but do Texecom supply just the transformer or is it a complete panel change? It will be under manufacturer's warranty.

Thanks

The Veritas is well renowned for the singing transformer.

Stud walls and them don't mix very well at all.

Try a SMALL drop of silicone inbetween transformer and housing.

This works well to muffle the sound.

Also, as was suggested above, isolate the panel from the wall with rubber washers or grommets.

As Rich say's usually its the 4 tranny screws just work loose and you'll find the noise will all but stop on tightening.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Usually can be cured by tightening transformer screws, common problem.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
