scaredpasenger Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hi guys first time poster here, I have a texecom 12 with hopefully an easy question..... I have an evening part set where my upstairs and downstairs landing pirs are omitted, what i want to know is can I set the alarm to beep when I walk past the downstairs pir when the part set is on to remind me to switch the bloody alarm off before I walk anywhere else downstairs, I'm sure my neighbours are getting a little wound up with our alarm going off at 3 or 4 in the morning when I get up half asleep for work. Any help much appreciated! Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 You can program it however you like if you know how. It's there a sensor to start the timer on the ground floor? Have you considered a part arm bell delay or an extra keypad in a better location? Quote
scaredpasenger Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Rkp location isn't the problem, I walk right past it, it's remembering to turn it off that's the problem, I've looked on the menu for an opton to tick for the ground floor pir but just can't see anything that sounds relevant, I'm gonna have another look now Or sorry if I missed your point are you saying remove the ground floor pir from omit and have it set for a 45 second timer or something Or sorry if I missed your point are you saying remove the ground floor pir from omit and have it set for a 45 second timer or something Or sorry if I missed your point are you saying remove the ground floor pir from omit and have it set for a 45 second timer or something Quote
Simlec Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Your down stairs hall PIR needs the "Part set" (1,2 or 3) attribute removing and the "Entry/Exit 2" attribute adding. Your installer should be able to do this in around 5 min or if you have programed it yourself you need to look in the zones section of manual. Quote

I am the installer, and have wintex, on that zone (which is set as guard access) the only boxes in attributes 1 ticked are : access and : entry exit 2, in atrributes 2 the only box ticked is :auto rearm. all sensors in the house are ricochet but there is a wired dual tec and wired dc with additional rkp in garden gym (seperate area) Your down stairs hall PIR needs the "Part set" (1,2 or 3) attribute removing and the "Entry/Exit 2" attribute adding. NotHeardofThat1 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 As above you would want the ground hall way PIR on in the part set and to start entry2 timer. Default attributes for guard access will set it as part entry anyway. Quote
scaredpasenger Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Sorry I've just re read my first post and im being a complete spanner, only the landing pir is omitted at night, the ground floor hallway pir is set with the rest of the house and the setup for boxes ticked are as listed above, hopefully that's a bit clearer now! I've not slept much the last few weeks!! Are you saying the actual zone type for the pir should be set to entry/exit 2 as opposed to guard access Quote
secureiam Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 no thats not what is being said. You omit the landing so you can use the toilet on a night without setting off the alarm. You come downstairs walk in front of the detector in the hallway and you want it to start the entry tones.Zone 2 the hallway PIR should be guard access type and dont go fiddling with the attributes as the chances are you are changing the system from the way it should work to something else. if you change the zone to not used and then back to guard access it should behave as you want. However be aware that changing settings with no understanding of the system or how it works is only likely to cause issues for you i the long term, get a pro in is my recomendation and make sure the whole system is done correctly. scaredpasenger Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 In that case it just doesn't work as i thought it should, has anyone else had experience with ricochet pirs or have all the posters only tested this on wired systems? I'm just not sure the ricochet pir acts like it should or if the pir itself is just not right, I hate texecom alarms with a passion, why I fitted one in my own house...... cost next to nothing compared to the galaxy, the menu system is so arsed about face it's just not funny I have reset the attributes to the pir, changed the battery, set it back to standard, removed and re learnt it, it just doesn't want to make the system sound Unfortunately I work for an nsi security company who make me do the occasional alarm, probably installed ten ish texecom alarms in last 3 years and mines the only one that doesn't seem to work properly, 99% of my time I'm doing access or cctv (thank god, I really really hate alarms!) Simlec Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Are you remembering that it will go to sleep for 3min... when your testing it? Quote
