Guest NickM Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Hi, We have an Accenta 8 mini system which was set while we were away on holiday, While we were away our local sub station suffered a major problem which left our house with no power for about a day, when the power came back on (at 3 o.clock in the morning ) it set the alarm off Our sleepy neightbour phoned up the father in law to come and switch the alarm off which he did. When we got back off holiday we noticed the light flashing on the outside of the house but when we try to key anything in the keypad it does nothing, There is no power or tamper light on on the keypad but the back light is lit. From reading other similar faults on this forum it sounds as though it needs a new battery to me but I'm no expert, Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance NickM
FASTCAR Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Hi , Yes , it sounds like it requires a quick reset , new battery , and a service. Hope the charging circuit hasnt fried..
Guest NickM Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Thanks for the reply. Is the quick reset and battery change something I can do or has that got to be done by an engineer? Is there anything I can do to stop the light flashing on the outside of the house? My last question, Is there a user manual available for my system online anywhere because the alarm was fitted when we bought the house but we were never given the user manual. thanks again. NickM
breff Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Have you tried pressing RESET? The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

NickM 28514[/snapback] Hi Nick It sounds like the system has not been serviced for a while, and this is why your fault has occured It is advisable that you let an engineer take a look they will also check the charging circuit is not fried and can do a full service of your system. If the reset button is not working your strobe is not easily stopped, and though we could tell you how to stop it, it is possible you could make things worse by trying yourself if you do not know what you are doing. My advise is to post where you are or check out yellow pages, most installers will be able to help and would provide a user manual too. Pete
Guest NickM Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Thanks for all the help. I'll get the system looked at by an engineer, I'm in Witham, Essex if any engineer on here is nearby and wants the job. NickM PS. Yes breff I have tried pressing reset several times but nothing hapens.
