How is the industry in general.

I'm super quiet at the moment, as quiet as I've known it in many years. I've spoken to some local companies, and one or two of the lads working for the nationals, everyone seems quiet.

I'm self employed and generally have enough contract work for 2-3 weeks in advance, in the last six weeks I've worked 1-2 days a week and the order book is empty. The van hasn't turned a wheel this week yet!

Worrying to say the least!

I've learned so much from my mistakes, I'm thinking of making a few more..

With plug and play cameras and apps monitoring your intruder who needs a pro?

Only fire left for the pro and mr sparky likes doing those.

Very true for domestics, but even the contract commercial side seems quiet.

Apparently we're not in recession, we shall see.

Do we know her?

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

First time in 10 years were quiet on the infrastructure side.

April usually triggers orders from our bigger customers. Speaking to them it appears there budgets have been cut, causing a knock on effect.

Project management side is still healthy.

Mended the van yesterday.... engine light has been on months, after a week of looking I found my cheapo elm327 scanner lead & then looked the fault codes on the internet

P0093 - Fuel System Leak Detected - Large Leak

P1351 - IDM input circuit Malfunction/Ignition coil control circuit High voltage (Siemens system - Pre/Post heating relay circuit. Relay not controlled and glow plugs supplied).

Whipped the plastic engine cover off & had a look how hard replacing glow plugs or the relay would be, had wipe around the top end as there a small amount of oil present, guess the oil might be diesel from the bolt which secure an injector, checked 'em with a torx bit on a ratchet & no.1 is very loose &  no. 3 is quite loose.

Fire the old beast up, no faults present, press the reset button & volá engines light is off & remained for 100+ml of chasing around happyland today,

I'd bet the tame mong in my local garage would have charged lots & taken a long time to mend it, call me Dr Diesel ;)
