matthewc89 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Hi Guys, I currently have a 6 year old, wired, Nexus 8 intruder alarm. The PIR in our kitchen was damaged by painters the other day so I am going to have to replace it. My wife's friend works for an intruder alarm company and gave her a Honeywell DT7550UK2 Dual Tec sensor. Was just wondering how I should wire it in? I have attached a photo of the current sensor PCB and the new dual-tech one. All help appreciate guys. Best Wishes, Matthew Attached is a photo of the new sensor! Quote
mark auto Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 red v+ black v- yellow/green - T1 & T2 blue/white - C & NC take all the jumper pins off the fault, tamper and alarm pins too Quote
matthewc89 Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Thanks, Mark - that new one is probably to 'high tech' for a domestic. Wouldn't you agree? Ah, well...it was free. Any tips on how to prevent the alarm going off outside/electrocuting myself? Thanks! Quote
mark auto Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 open the main control panel, silence the alarm, locate the 12volt aux supply to the detectors (red and black wires), disconnect those, replace the pir, the reconnect them, close up the panel and reset the system. should be good to go! and yes, its a bit overkill, but for £0 i dont think you can complain Quote
al-yeti Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 You still need to setup it's range , little grey pot top left , where is the sensor being located in kitchen? Did you get instructions with it? Quote
matthewc89 Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Thanks again, Mark! Al-yeti: it's being located in a corner of the kitchen (the only corner available in the kitchen) - we have a lot of windows though! Yeah - it came with instructions? Quote
al-yeti Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 OK look how to set it up and what the pot does adjusts microwave Quote
