Litch90 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Discovered an Optima 2 Plus panel today on my travels, went to do a full service for the customer. When attempting to set, i had 6,5 & 2 on the visual display, obviously zone faults... However, i checked all cables, terminations & present voltage at the detectors. All came back fine. What else could this be? The only thing I did not try today was replacement sensors (they are as old as the hills) I'll hold my hand up and admit I've seen this panel maybe three times so i'm not overly familiar with it. Any suggestions? Thanks Quote
MrHappy Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 you check the resistance of the circuits ? Quote Mr Veritas God

Thanks for your reply bud Across the three zones they were each giving something off in the ranges 0.6 0.12 0.8 If i remember correctly.. what sort of readings would you expect on this system MH? sixwheeledbeast Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 If that's Ohm's they're either all mounted adjacent the panel on one foot of cable or you didn't disconnect them from the panel before testing? Quote
Litch90 Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 0.12 was indeed mooted just about half a metre from panel 0.66 was living room.. so about 4/5 metres from panel 0.8 is a tricky one.. mounted at least a good 10 metres away What do you reckon? Belled the cores individually on the 8C comes back fine no damaged cores. Quote
MrHappy Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 if the zones show open when the cicuit is closed did you check resistance between alarm & tamper pairs ? (2+ had tamper per zone (IIRC)) Before changing any devices I'll link zones out & see if the panels goosed, it will on or around 25 yrs old ? Quote Mr Veritas God
The Arab Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I had this once and did the down power count to 10 and repower and fault cleared, have also had them do similar when the battery is faulty Quote Trade Member
