caveo security Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Describe how you would measure and test an end of line circuit if the circuit was suspected of having a fault. Quote
james.wilson Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 you do have to a bit yourself. How would you do this? you do know i work at tavcom don't you? Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
caveo security Posted October 10, 2016 Author Posted October 10, 2016 Well I don't think that you work for Tavcom, but even if I'm not breaking any rules By asking questions here I'm no just asking to pass I'm asking to learn something useful which gonna stay in my head Well I would use multi meter to read the voltage and resistance ? petrolhead Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) is the purpose of your course not to do the work for yourself so you figure it out and have a eureka moment instead of a copy and paste moment? Are you already working in the industry you mentioned a service call in another post? Is there no one at your company teaching you? Or is Caveo your own company? If it is you might want to proofread your website, that's not how you spell maintenance. I don't know what your course expects as an answer but I'd start in panel diagnostics and see what the panel thinks it is seeing, disconnect the zone at the panel and measure resistance in sensor both in alarm and at rest, then remove any power from the detector and check for induced ac, then remove the wiring from the detector and check the wiring on its own by measuring open circuit and with a short on, then finally check the sensor itself, check the resistors are what they should be and check the contacts are switching cleanly and that the actual detector is operating as expected.
