Rubble1952 Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Does anyone else have issues when using G3 roller door contacts. We have issues on two sites where we have such contacts. We have 2 per door. They randomly go fault, mask and open circuit. Fitted to a galaxy and wired and mounted as per instructions. Any ideas? Quote

ElecTech Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) Funnily enough yes... we fitted two on a roller shutter over a week ago, this weekend we had a call out - tamper then high res within the same minute. Showing closed ever since. We have put it on soak test for now... Strange - although I don't like the look of the tamper switch within elmdenes G3 junction box. Looks flimsy and unreliable IMO. BUSTER Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 We have had exactly the same problem on a few sites, Texecom panels Quote Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company
james.wilson Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 I like the Elmdene g3 myself. Range is reduced but that's cos of the bias etc Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
The Arab Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 I had this too, so I bypassed the tamper loop part of the contact and no more problem, can only think that the loop isn't very good inside the contact, this is the pair of white wires that are there only for a tamper Quote Trade Member
james.wilson Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 this cqr too? Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
sixwheeledbeast Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Tamper loop is part of the interference reed circuit on most of the ones I have fitted. I remember a thread a good while back, had issues with both CQR and Elmdene on one site, seemed to be environmental. At least with the Elmdene there technical explained which colours did what so I could make interference reed trigger masked instead of tamper, you have no option with CQR. Quote
