Hi guys,

Im a spark by trade but usually stick to what I know best and leave this side of things to you guys

Im helping a family member, they have recently bought a new house and want the alarm fitting which was actually given to them by the previous home-owner

Ive got the kit at home with me now, and it comes with the following :

32 zone Ricochet panel

remote LCD keypad

5 x wireless PIR sensors ( PW-W)

2 x wireless door sensors ( Impact W )

1 x wireless external sounder

5 x proximity tags

1 x backup battery

I basically just wanted a heads up on anything I should look out for when installing this kit ?

To save installation time, while I have it at home, could I connect it up to a power source, wire the keypad up and learn all the devices here ?  Then once on site fix them in place to correspond with the zone they have been assigned to ?

Thanks in advance for any info / help you can offer

Matt

How long has the kit been hanging around for? My first thought would be to replace all the batteries if it's been left in the garage for 3 years as the previous owner didn't get round to it.

It's a decent bit of kit. One thing I would say though - does it NEED to be 100% wireless, especially if you're a spark? Every wireless device you can bin is a win in my book, no matter how good they are.

Do you have the UDL (download software) and how old is the on board firmware? You'll need an adaptor to upgrade it, but again, if it's been hanging around, could be a good idea.

I would also fit a comms device such as a ComIP to complete the system (and it will allow you to log in remotely if they have any issues).

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Hi datadiffusion, thanks for your reply

On the box it says V3.02 firmware

It does come with a CD which says Wintex V6.2.3.2 and Ricochet Monitor V2.18.5

Will take on board regarding replacing batteries and the comIP etc.. thanks for that

No, I have no problem using wired devices, ill put that to them and see what they say

Once again thanks for your advice

Hi; as it happens, you already have the latest firmware, released 07/16 but still the latest.

So, it's possible the entire kit is pretty new then.

What's your exact model by the way, it should be one of these;

Premier Elite 640
Premier Elite 168
Premier Elite 88

Premier Elite 48
Premier Elite 48-W
Premier Elite 24
Premier Elite 24 (Polymer)
Premier Elite 24-W
Premier Elite 12-W
Premier Elite 12-W LIVE

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Sounds like a pretty new kit with a few extra PIR's added in. It's my preferred series of control panel and they work very well, I also agree with the wired point above.

You need to read the manual cover to cover before taking on something like this, if you set these up wrong you will have no end of trouble.

Don't enroll the devices off site first. Follow the instructions and pay close attention to the commissioning procedure.

SWB, thanks very much

I'm doing it over a couple of days so plenty of time to read the manual etc...

Does look a bit complicated on first glance haha !

Just going to get the power in tomorrow for the panel

Thanks

Actually hook it up and enroll the devices on the bench and get used to the menus and see how it all works

Then simply delete all devices or better default the panel and do it all on site , that way you don't have to scratch your head so much on site as you will have got used to it a bit

Yep good point, due to mesh commissioning, don't enrol until you're on site with devices!

Hence default panel once you played with it a bit
