Monteey Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 These are the old Redwall, Redwide best detectors for outside, opal elite NOPE, **** in sunlight. Yup we got a CCTV job using Redwalls and Pelco domes, pretty reliable considering its right in the middle of Exeter, only goes off average of 3 times a night and 2 of those is postie and milkman, pretty good for a large car forecourt i would have said. ian.cant Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 None of this will prevent anyone breaking into the car, like i said earlier, it would be better to prevent access to the yard as once theyre in the damage is done long before any response will be achieved.
Guest Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 That's why there should be fence and gate which should be supervised so that alarm can be given before nothing bad has happened.
Guest bryan1656 Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 A good car alarm will help protect the car no matter where it is parked, but many thieves aren't detered by them. They know that they will be long gone before police arrive...and that hardly anyone pays attention to car alarms. There are car alarms that include a cellular dialer that will notify the owner by pager, etc. However, these are pretty expensive. Motion triggered exterior lighting will help discourage intruders at night. Fence and gate may help prevent opportunistic thieves, but if these block lines of sight, they can also provide privacy for intruders. Motion detector video can be set to limit false alarms. This may also help identify the thief for prosecutiion. A highly visible false camera with a visible "monitored by cctv" sign may also deter thieves... provided they notice the sign and false camera.
