Hi All,

I did read many post on the forum before starting this one so please excuse me im im repeating someone else question.

Im in the middle of trialing a Texecom Odyssey bell box (X-BE) with a visonic powermax complete.

I have connected the expander module and that works fine as I also tested a voice box.

Now, when it comes to this siren im getting a strange tamper issue. When I open the lid to to release the tamper on the siren the powermax complete panel shows no trouble lights but still says Not ready to arm (z30 open)

however I have the siren ringing (because the tamper is open). Weirdly when I close the tamper on the siren the trouble light flicks on and says Z30 is open.

I have connected it just as Visonic have said and also enrolled Zone 30 as 24h Audible.

connections on Siren to expander

A: 12V+ >>>> SRN+

B: Bell >>>> EXT

C: Tamp >>>> Z30

D: 0V >>>> GND

S: STRB >>>> IN-

I have also linked the Tamp with a 2.2K resistor to 0V in the siren aswell use an addition 2.2K resistor inline with z30 on the expander.

Could someone tell me if im doing anything wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you programme that zone?

Is there no option to make the zone bell tamper ?, then you need to look at your resistor placement

@petrolhead I have installed hundreds or powermax complete systems but never come across someone wanting a different style bell hence why I want to trial this before considering this any further. Also, its not a paid job as I have not agreed to anything yet but I was keen to understand how it would work out.

That's bell tamper on visonic?

Wire the tamper as you would any other deol fully supervised loop.

confirm with a meter you are seeing 2k2 closed 4k4 open at the panel as per the document tech support sent you?

Well you have the wiring diagram, looks pretty simple. Done this with other makes of bells before no problem.

Is the bell going into hold off mode, look at the Ody LED's when your opening/closing the tamper.

Measure the resistance of the tamper loop with lid in different states so you can see what the reading are at the panel.

You may have to adjust your resistances to accommodate the bell.

I wouldn't have thought it was a ground issue as I would assume they are at the same potential via the ribbon lead?
