Steve K Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Does anyone know if there is a way of having a normally open circuit on the Veritas 8 panel? I know there is an option on the higher spec R8 to program a cct as NO rather than NC, but I can't see the option on the basic Veritas 8. If it's not possible I will replace a rather outdated pressure mat with a PIR. Monteey Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Id get rid of the pressure mat, more trouble than they're worth. Guest Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Best option, bin the pressure mat. A PIR will give better protection. If you want to use the mat, wire it between the zone and tamper circuit. Installation manual, page 14.
Service Engineer Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Does anyone know if there is a way of having a normally open circuit on the Veritas 8 panel? Loop out the pressure mat zone, feeding one lead from the pressure mat to either side of the looped zone and the other lead to 0Vdc.Or as Lurch states above. Connect the tamper circuit as normal if there is one. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
Steve K Posted October 28, 2004 Author Posted October 28, 2004 Thanks Guys. Thought it could be done but couldn't remember exactly how. Customer is quite attached to her pressure mat, but I will continue to persuade her to have a PIR!
