john.lightbody Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 (edited) Hi, have old Challenger 5 home alarm system in house, worked a treat last 20 years, power cut the other day and it's went haywire?! Code no longer works and it just sets itself off... Trying to get user manual if at all possible pls?? Edited August 19, 2017 by john.lightbody Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I assume it needs a service and a new battery, that's if no ones looked at it in 20 years. Quote
john.lightbody Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 (edited) Not been serviced, never had too, worked splendidly for all these years. Has had just 2 battery changes and the current one is dead, but since power cut last week once power came on it set off, code not working to turn off.... Rulland Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Duff battery due to lack of routine maintenance etc has probably knackered the charging circuit and the pcb, it's had a good innings though!-more luck than anything else I would hazard a guess. 1 1 Quote
