Hi, have old Challenger 5 home alarm system in house, worked a treat last 20 years, power cut the other day and it's went haywire?! Code no longer works and it just sets itself off... Trying to get user manual if at all possible pls??

Not been serviced, never had too, worked splendidly for all these years. Has had just 2 battery changes and the current one is dead, but since power cut last week once power came on it set off, code not working to turn off....

Duff battery due to lack of routine maintenance etc has probably knackered the charging circuit and the pcb, it's had a good innings though!-more luck than anything else I would hazard a guess.

look gardtec ish ?

 

power it down,  restart it with no battery it if doesn't start with all the tampers close & fuses intact its knacked

no, no point it worked fine for years till it broke, I did put new batteries in the remote tho

but I doubt anything is trouble free at that age, security systems are expected to work for ever with no tlc. What else has the same?
