strinjf Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) I have an Optima XM alarm system with 4 PIRs around the house. As I'm decorating I'd like to replace the PIRs as the plastic housings have discoloured over the years. Can anyone advise a suitable PIRs for this panel? Thanks in advance. John. norman Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Hi, any 12v Domestic PIR will work, have a look here...https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/intruder-alarm-c-36/movement-detectors-c-36_116/standard-pirs-c-36_116_118/?sort=4a&filter_id=&product_listing_sorter_id=1 Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
aissecur Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Hi John, Be mindful if you have any pets that are likely to be in the same room as a PIR then you will need to opt for a pet detector Quote

sixwheeledbeast Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Is that for fitting the PIR's or removing the pets? Quote
norman Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 The latter, only if they are cats though... *just joking obvs Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

strinjf Posted August 27, 2017 Author Posted August 27, 2017 No problem with pets... I've seen that some have a pet version.. However I just put the cats out when we're out! Funny story.. One Christmas we hung a large decorative star from the hall ceiling. you can guess what our neighbours phoned to tell us later that day...... lol. On topic.. I looked at the dataset for the Bosch blueline and in the spec it states Relay: Solid state, supervised, Form A normally-closed (NC) contacts rated for ≤100 mA, 25 VDC, 2.5 W, <20 Ω closed I thought Form A was the descriptor for a normally open contact?
