secure4 Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 OK. Firstly, you will not see up the garden or down the path at night using IR if you have the cameras inside, the IR wont pass through the glass efficiently enough, also if you have lights on inside when its dark ooutside, the window will act like a mirror. As for the garage being ram raided. A camera wont stop someone nicking your car / van but a couple of solid steel, pull up posts will! Regards. Mark secure4.me.uk digital cctv
Selsport69 Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 This all sounds abit like the stuff you used get in the exchange and mart many moons ago when I was fresh out the school, willing to pay the £90 plus vat and p&p for a basic Optima Panel. Kev
Guest Chuckles1066 Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 And the UK's best selling day/night cameras are the Samsung 520's last time I looked.Pete 30090[/snapback] I've googled on "Samsung 520 camera" and "Samsung 520 cctv" and got zilch! However, googling "Samsung 520" throws up a shedload of results but they all refer to a TFT monitor! Are you sure that the model number's correct? .

Fact.. if this kit was so good every cctv or alarm co in the uk would use it Same idea on those kit alarms you get arrgh ! My input, not used the samsung day/night but have used sony's found it good in low lighting although did require some sort of lighting My fav & thats what i only fit in low light situ's is jvc's tk ??? cant remember it now but in no light it works good built in amp & easy to set up without the cost of ir lamps ect ect The old saying is you get what you pay for stick to a main brand & in my option jvc Regards Al
secure4 Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 I use Mintron for nighttime low light senarious where colour is needed. They are very good. In fact, so good that astronomers use the black and white version. Anyone else use these? Regards. Mark secure4.me.uk digital cctv
Doktor Jon Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 secure4, Interesting that you use Mintron cameras - the range of camera models that they manufacture is actually quite staggering. Any idea which model you're using, and how about reliability? D.J.
secure4 Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 I use the high end. http://www.mintron.com/HTM/New_PRODUCTS/ALPHA/SPEC/62v1.htm Havnt had any issues with any that I have installed. Why do you find it interesting that I use these cameras? Regards. Mark secure4.me.uk digital cctv
Doktor Jon Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 secure4, apologies but I don't think that came out quite the way I wanted What I actually meant was, as a sad old consultant beavering away in a lonely garrett, I rarely get any decent feedback on 'interesting' far eastern manufacturers products, other than the premier division players like Sony, Sanyo, JVC, Panasonic, etc. etc. I'm currently struggling to keep track of just how many manufacturers there are out there; strange how they all seem to make "state of the art" products
