Jellybeans Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Hi guys need some help . Urgently . Recently had some work done in my house and the fuse spur for the alarm has been blowing every couple of day for passed week. This Pir I’ve noticed has gone red also so was wondering if this could be the problem cause all the others have blue lights. If this cable was broken it’s only 12volt anyway so didn’t think this could be the problem the fuse in the spur was 13amps also , thought it should of been a 3 or 5 amp . Didn’t take the MCB out just blew the fuse . . Can anyone help me out . Many thanks guys , Quote
sjsturner Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 What kind of work? Any insulation Resistance tests carried out? sound like a dodgy power supply/transformer in the panel. Quote
Jellybeans Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 No nothing like that just some drilling , plasterboard put up . Quote
sjsturner Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 All electrical connection are tight? plasterboard/drilling anywhere near the panel? Power been switched off for a period of time? Quote
MrHappy Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 the easy solution is find a tame alarm co. local to you... if you don't want to spend money, disconnect the alarm Quote Mr Veritas God
Lwillis Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 The PIR going red is because it’s seen movement those have a red LED in them , some have BLUE leds. Contact a local alarm Co. for assistance Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 If your blowing 13A plug top fuses there is something seriously wrong on the mains side of the alarm (assuming only the alarm is connected to the spur). I would suggest isolating it and powering the system down until tests can be made to the electrical connections or control panel. Quote

al-yeti Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Assuming spur is short distance from panel then they may have damaged cable coming out of the spur to panel Picture of spur? Panel? Internal of panel? Quote
datadiffusion Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) ^^^ Ooooh, you shoddy rip-off alarm fitter! 3 minutes ago, al-yeti said: Assuming spur is short distance from panel then they may have damaged cable coming out of the spur to panel Picture of spur?
