Hi all,

Need some help please.

Me and friend just installed a Premier Elite 48 and placed a Premier Elite DT PIR Sensor in the garage.

However, the Garage PIR is causing false alarms within minutes of arming the system.

We have turned the Microwave sensitivity right down to minimum and changed the Pulse Count Jumper to '2' ...but it's still setting off the alarm.

What's the first thing I can try please?

Could it be cold air blowing through the garage door or vents?

Thanks

PIR's and DT's are two separate things, can you confirm what you have?

A PIR is not suitable for a garage.

Pulse count should be higher for less sensitivity.

Need to prove the sensor from the wiring and then the sensor from the environment.

If you cover the sensor does it activate? If you stand still in front of the sensor does it activate?

Sorry, I mean a Dual Tech sensor is installed the garage. The model of Sensor is ‘Texecom Premier DT’

I will try the steps you have suggested ...and get back to you.

thanks

Have you walked tested the system just to be sure that it is that detector thats activating?

Link out the detector on the nc terminals then see if it still alarms when set, if not you have a dodgy detector. If it still alarms you have either a panel fault or a wiring fault, swap zones see if the fault moves with the swap, if it stays on the same zone its the panel.

Thank you. Will try those things.

Yes, We did walk test the system and the detector did pickup movement at the time.

Did it display garage on the keypad when you walk tested?
