Griffmaster Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Hi. I need to remove the keypad for my Abacus 6 for decorating purposes. Have done it before in the past but can’t remember what I did before disconnecting the key pad wires so that it doesn’t go into alarm. Had the front off using engineers code and can see the wires going into the terminal block on the back. Thanks. Quote
al-yeti Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Just leave in engineer mode and try not shorting out the wires dude Although can't you secure cable cover whole keypad and decorate? Quote
Griffmaster Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Thanks al-yeti, thought removing wires might set alarm off. Will leave in engineer mode and not short wires!!, decorator needs panel off. Out of interest once in eng’ mode are those settings held at panel until coming out of it again? Quote
Amps Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Enter engineers mode. Remove Keypad Cut one wire at a time and tape over each end. Jobsa a gud un. Quote
MrHappy Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 or.... just leave wire poking out of wall, until you've plastered, painted or wallpaper & then fit something decent ? Quote Mr Veritas God
Amps Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Yeah maybe time to upgrade to a Pyronix Euro 46 App panel Quote
Griffmaster Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Gonna fit something better once jobs finished. Done me good for 25years. Quote

Griffmaster Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 Only until I get time to sort a replacement. Quote
