Hi,

Newbie, but competent DIYer here.  I've just added a couple of extra zones to my Gardtec 300, and managed to program them, not the most user friendly input method though.

I've managed to lose the bolt/screw that holds the lid/door closed.  I've got it taped closed for now, but it's sure to give out at 3 in the morning.  Does anyone know the size or type of this bolt?

Thanks in advance!

3/4"  6 wood screw fits nicely, its a bodge but it will get you out of trouble

Don't expect the correct screw to go back in after you've jammed a wood screw in it.

I would think it's something like a M3x6 dome head, going from the memory of the few Gardtecs I have had to deal with.

Pattress screws are normally M3.5 which would be a guide on size.

Dome, pan and round are all different types of heads...

Pan would look more like a brass screw for a galv box, for example.

According to screw fixation that's not a pan lo now your making it up

To get back on topic what really matters is the size of the nut in the casing and it's thread, it's certainly not a countersunk wood screw.

I suppose it's only an old Gardtec but I prefer to do a job right, I would expect the same if I was seeking advice.

Depends on how anal you are on whether you really need to put the correct screw back in. Personally I would not be losing sleep over it the box is secured and if you need to open it the screw will come out and go back in.
