Thanks for the reply’s guys figured it out in the end was quiet straight forward really. Was no need to come across like that petrol head I’m no apprentice just been mainly doing domestic over the last few years. Like I said in my post I haven’t touched anything with multiple DVRs before. I like to take on challenges and learn onsite where I can.

Was the client aware that "you havent touched anything with multiple DVRs before and that you like to take on challenges and learn onsite where you can" before awarding a big contract or did they think they were getting someone suitably qualified and experienced?

Just edited 4 of the existing unused channels on the NVR in the office copied the IP address of the DVR where I ran the cameras too and the port numbers job done.

Ohh shut up really hate people like you on forums ooking for petty arguments. For the record I stated I hadn’t worked with anything like that before and they wer just happy to get rid of the cowboy they had previously. Thanks and have a gd day.

I'm not looking for a petty argument. I told you exactly what your solution was. I'm not going to hide my distaste for chancers that bid for work they haven't bothered to train for though, it makes a mockery of the industry.

And I'll shut up when I'm ready to.

Aye your right standards count for **** all. I picked up a job next week to install a new boiler system at a nursing home how hard can it be? I 'll ask for some advice on diynot if I get stuck on what all the pipey bits do.
