Titch Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Hi All, Needed a bit of advise. Had a new aluminium front door installed. The previous wooden door had a flush contact sensor. I've attached a photo. I needed a new sensor that would be on the surface rather than flush. Not quite sure what to get. Originally it was a CQR MAXIMAL FLUSH CONTACT FC504 O.G 23MM. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what to replace it with? Will this do the job? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F261754615766 Any help will be greatly appreciated. Titch Quote
petrolhead Posted April 30, 2018 Posted April 30, 2018 Can you not fit another flush? You can get tiny ones like fc503that work well in aluminium doors. Surface looks gash IMO. https://www.cqr.co.uk/contacts/flush-contact/ Quote
Titch Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 I agree. I just thought it would be trickier as the door hasn't got a flat surface to mount on. Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 Any type of contact could work If you can fit within the operational gap but the push in "pencil style" are normally the most aesthetic on alu. I keep a few GE ones handy (1078). A picture of the door maybe handy if you need more advise on a surface fit. Quote
Titch Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 Thanks for the response. I definitely think the flush ones are the way to go. Maybe it's time for a full install. The system is a bit dated anyhow. I think I need to get the professionals in. Quote
vinnychoff Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Sorry If I am a bit late as I had new windows and doors installed. This was the perfect time to route the wires in and into the flush fit magnets. Did they cut the wires when the door was installed? Could you get to the wire or have some one connect to that wire access with the new door? Quote
