Guest Mark Harrison Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Hope you can help We intend to move house in the near future. The house is a 80's 3 bedroom detached with conservatory, what alarm would you recommend (within reason). Should we go hard wired or wire-less, as the property has just been re-decorated and i don't really want external trunking showing. What kind of cost, time-scale and recommended fitters would be appreciated. Iam based in Bolton, Lancashire. Regards Mark
Brian c Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Hi Mark, There are various panels that will suit your requirements. Different installers will recommend different equipment. For the end user, most good quality panels will have little difference in the basic setting/unsetting procedure. Any good installer will come round and discuss possible cable routes with you and design the system to suit your requirements. Most cables can be concealed all the way to the detector and trunking would only be used in cupboards, cellars, etc or when there is no alternative. Unless you have no alternative, hard wired systems are the preferred option for reliability and security. The cost and time scale would depend on how many detectors you wanted on the system, but typically a good quality system on a 3 bed semi would take 1-2 days. Cost would vary so much with equipment choice and system design that without, without a consultation, it would be very hard to give you a rough idea. There are a few professional installers, in your area, on this forum that would be happy to assist you further. Have a look here and here. hope this helps. Brian If you don't know......ask.
