Andyh200 Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 I have a Scantronic 9800 (or +) that has had a battery replacement, the engineer code had to be reset during the process - as the alarm was not under any maintenance. The user and engineer codes are now default. The system now shows c-12 and is no longer able to be set, the system only has four zones - three PIRs and a door sensor. Digging through the internet the c and number seems to indicate a zone violation. Can anybody advise? Quote
MrHappy Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 call a local small co. however if you want to prat about, either z12 need programming out, or z1 & z2 are open ? I'd assume the full system requires programming correctly ? Quote Mr Veritas God
Andyh200 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 Many thanks for the prompt response, the suggestion of programming out z12 seems to have done the trick. Would the best plan be to program out the other zones that are not used? Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Seems odd to have an error on Z12 if you have no expander cards on the system (4 zones) Quote
Andyh200 Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 I've managed to get the system working now, it didn't make sense to me to being seeing an error on a zone that doesn't exist without an expander. Tested a full/part set and things appear to be working correctly now. Many thanks for the responses and guidance, it it very much appreciated. Quote
MrHappy Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Default it & reprogram it Personally I'd bin it & fit something new Quote Mr Veritas God
sixwheeledbeast Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 Wouldn't provide me with much confidence. NVM could be on the way out. I am all for maintaining a fully working system but if your getting problems at that age it's time to consider controls replacement. Quote
