Guest Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 Ps i have located a bt point that i may be able to tap into although it says on the box it's for a modem and the colour of the wires are brown/white and white/brown would i be able to use it?? 31261 It doesn't matter what the wire colours are, it's what they're connected to. If it's a standard phone point with 2+5 connected then I would have thought so. Have you definitely got the SD1 connected to an analogue extension and not a digital one.
Deltaseven Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 Try programming the unit to ring an internal extension - that way you find out whether the problem is within the local telephone network or beyond it.

Try finding a fax socket and use that - just an idea to try for you.
housty Posted November 17, 2004 Author Posted November 17, 2004 hi all I tried using a converter from one of their fax machines but it still does't work. Help please Houston Security Systems Ltd Intruder alarms CCTV Door entry Fire protection Networking SSAIB Approved
Guest Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 hi allI tried using a converter from one of their fax machines but it still does't work. Help please 31764 Converter? What needed converting? If it was a standard analogue fax machine then the SD1 shouldn't need any converting. If the fax machine works on the line then somethings wrong with your connections.
Deltaseven Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Housty, I'm not trying to be funny, but if you answer some of the questions, those of us who are trying to help may be able to help more!! Quotes attributed as per previous posts in this thread: Have you tested the line with a handset? ie can you dial out? Try finding a fax socket and use that - just an idea to try for you. Guest Samholland Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Sounds like it is Re-playing the recorded message. To send a test call press A then press 1 this will send message A to phone number 1. This should work
