Specialist Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Just wondering if anyone else carries one & which one you use ?. Quote Customers Love us, Intruders Hate us.
MrHappy Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I have 2 Greenlee ones (£50+ for used one) 1 is branded "BT" & beeps when their is ADSL on the line (you don't really need this) there isn't much more too them than than using a cheap one piece phone, if you do want one- this is cheap & still in the packet https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GREENLEE-DSP-COMPACT-TELEPHONE-TEST-BUTT-SET-M0452-00GA-NEW/254245502757?hash=item3b32367f25:g:Gq0AAOSwZRZc7CB0&frcectupt=true Quote Mr Veritas God

Specialist Posted May 28, 2019 Author Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) Hey al: That looks like a Besson 290. Excellent phone in their day but sadly not digital safe, i had one of those for years. Bought a BT Tele 300a to replace it, again a great phone & pretty rugged. Sadly some scumbag nicked it. Have the ACT meters mini DSP phone at the minute, does the job but very lightweight and not particularly durable. Thanks Mr H: That's the one I've got at the moment but from ACT & as above, does the job but just not rugged enough. Think they were originally made by Greenlee. Apparently if you go off hook with them on a Digital line, you can take the line down. So I got the 300 to replace it, the ACT was an eBay buy as a cheap backup. Can't even remember where my 290 is. If I find it, I might chuck a filter in my Toolbag & try using that. At least they're pretty bomb proof.
