datadiffusion Posted February 6, 2020 Author Posted February 6, 2020 (edited) Blimey that's presumably a bit of a bargain! Well, if you need one. Though I can't imagine anyone needing one for insurance purposes etc... buying it on ebay. Wow, even then (guessing late 90s?) these Thorn bells were made in China! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vimpex-MBF-8EV-24-Fire-Alarm-Bell-8-Inch-24V-DC-Red/283665274205?_trkparms=aid%3D1110001%26algo%3DSPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D225076%26meid%3D1a0f52879a094c99a5579d7d18eefe71%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D184110698422%26itm%3D283665274205%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 Phew, that's more like it! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Red-Fire-Alarm-Bell-Thorn-Security-Made-In-England-A1/183956074282?hash=item2ad4a2ef2a:g:VYsAAOSw4lNdfh3D Edited February 6, 2020 by datadiffusion Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Quote Mr Veritas God
MrHappy Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 a common use would be a 24hr circuit on say a wine / spirit store in the cellar in public house anyone opening the door would set the alarm off, a zone omit module would permit authorised people to use set the 24hr circuit & access the store. There a 2 types, one with key on the front & one controlled by an external switch normally a 5 lever chubb lock in the door The common method was contact on the door with cc wiring inside under hardboard, operating the chubb lock turned off of the circuit secure the lock on the door turned the alarm back on Quote Mr Veritas God
