datadiffusion Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 (edited) Something jogged my memory the other day, what were those boxes, about the size of a small box of cornflakes, usually painted white but connected with pyro, they were always badged 'AVALON'? Were they very early voice evac systems, or sounders, they had the look of a speaker about them? But always wired up with fireproof cable whenever I saw them. If you go online and do that google walkabout thing in the now gone BBC TV centre they are full of them, but I first saw them in the early 90s in a shopping centre I worked at for a very short time before finding my pliers...
