Roger99 Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I have a Texecom Elite 48, a few years old. it has an old firmware v.2.02 which is a long way behind the current versions. Although it's always worked well I was wondering if it was worth updating the firmware. Can a panel this old be updated to the latest version or is it restricted by the hardware? Would I really get any benefit or is it best to leave it alone? Thanks for any help! Quote
PeterJames Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 If its working and does everything you need then there is no point. Galaxy and Texecom are two different brands BTW Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I have no idea what a Texecom Galaxy is. As for Texecom Elite you should leave it alone unless you need a specific feature. However to answer the question all Elite hardware can be flash updated with the flasher board and Wintex, there are the odd minor feature that are unavailable on older Elite hardware. Quote

Roger99 Posted July 18, 2019 Author Posted July 18, 2019 Sorry my mistake about Galaxy :) I'd been reading about other devices just to keep up to date. Thanks for the advice. Probably best to leave it alone. Quote
james.wilson Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Both brands are well supported here, I know more on the gal side personally but 6wb is much better on texecom Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Joking aside, yes with older panels especially non-cloud types the best advice is definately to leave alone if it works Edited July 19, 2019 by datadiffusion Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
