Apologies for not replying earlier but been very busy. Just to let you know that in the end I opted for plan B. I got 3 friends round with a trumped up excuse and refused to allow them to leave. End result was we managed to condense the important parts of 5-6 weeks work into a long weekend and the windows went in on the Tuesday. It means it's practically impossible to work in the extension now as I had to get all the large stuff in before I put the windows in (plasterboard everywhere!!!!) but at least its as secure as the rest of the house. Once again thanks for all the advice. Much appreciated
