If I can get only a “okish” system to install myself I would rather get the dogs by professional installer. If that’s the case I need to know what to have not what someone wants to sell me because they get a better deal from the wholesaler. Suggestions welcome..

There's not great deal of choice in the market place for alarm controls-

Texecom, Pyronix, Honeywell Galaxy, Eaton ,HKC ?

Will all be ballpark the same sort of money

what you want or whats on been offered at discount doesn't really matter as an installer whats 100's / 1000's of the same kit....

OK so it's iD (on Risco??)

OP are you happy to open up controls and well given there are dangers e.g. mains electricity?

How many wires do you have coming out of the iD line is what's of interest...

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Good afternoon all. I know the replace old for new has been discussed. A wireless system is probably the best way to go with all the bells and whistles. Can anyone recommend a solid system? Many thanks in anticipation.

As said before by yourself that's your best option going wireless  unless you can rewire easily , try and keep the bell wire and keypad wire where possible
