Hi everyone,

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I have been unable to find an answer.

I have an Optima XM home alarm and need to remove 2 PIRs after some building work was done on the house.  I know which zones relate to which PIRs after doing a walk test.

Could someone provide step by step instructions on how to do this please.

Also, after disconnecting the power and taking off the front panel and then reversing, all LEDs are now on and all buttons unresponsive - is this normal and will the panel return to normal after a set amount of time?

Thanks in advance!

Did you disconnect the battery when you down powered?

Disconnected power, then battery, then connected back up in reverse order.

Alarm sounded and was able to put in code, which silenced the alarm.

'Day' and 'Power' LEDs now lit, so looks to be in a normal state.

Thank for the help.

Would anyone know how to safely remove a PIR from the system please?

remove all the cabling for it in the control panel, power and circuit. YOu will then have to remove the tamper from the loop and link out the circuit

Cheers, will give it a go!

Connect power first then battery NOT battery first, if the battery is knackered the psu wont be able provide enough power to the controls
