Iand123 Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Hi all I had an ADT smart home system installed but has been out of contract for about a year now (about 3.5-4 years in age). Has been working fine for all this time until tonight it will not let me arm the alarm. We have the PM 360 control unit which is plugged in upstairs and have a Visonic KP-141 PG2 handset/keypad that we usually set the alarm from. When we try to set the alarm it fails and when pressing the i button it goes yellow which the back of the keypad says is “trouble/memory”. As the subscription ended we lost access to ADT’s app so i have no idea how to find out more info and dont want to entertain any of their charges WHat are my options? I replaced a battery on the door sensor we have a couple of days ago and seemed to work fine until tonight (it was setting/unsettling fine and the door sensor would trigger the alarm when opened if set). COuld that have messed something up? The other sensors haven’t been serviced for a while so the batteries could be low and have ordered new ones but if these dont make any difference am i somewhat stuck to find out more info without getting ADT involved? Thanks in advance Quote

Thanks in advance First of all when changing batteries after that much time you need to change them all , and don't buy cheap rubbish either , Duracell Energizer's etc You will need an engineer most probably , if you don't have engineers access But the user log should tell you what's wrong , why don't you Google the user manual and have a look, without no detail it could be anything Make your decision on how much you value what your protecting , if it's usual , you have nothing or not much and not bothered , just thought you give a go Rip off wall and as Mr H might say buy a dog? sixwheeledbeast Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Ideally you would have the system serviced annually and as part of that the batteries in all the devices would be replaced as required, I assume there was a reason for cancelling that? ADT Visonic systems use components that run on a different frequency so support for replacement parts would be limited to ADT without buying second hand. While it's possible any engineer maybe able to get you sorted if it's simple or just batteries, but your going to get limited support and may not be able to get the app back online. One thing that may point you in the right direction if you keep pressing the "i" button it should point you towards the faults stopping it from arming. Quote
Iand123 Posted April 10, 2020 Author Posted April 10, 2020 Thanks everyone. So I googled and found on here how to access the PM360 using the app and connecting to wifi. The errors are below (we have one siren, a front door contact and two motion sensors - hall and living room) Front door - CNTCT Vanish (Guessing related to replacing the battery) Living Room - motion sensor missing Hall - motion sensor missing Siren - tamper alarm (I removed the cover yesterday and out it back on) KeyPad - tamper alarm Siren missing GSM Net Fail GPRS Net Fail im no expert but that’s a lot of things with alarms or missing so I’m making the assumption it’s going in the bin. Few people mentioned above but how do I remove this? Whenever weve unplugged the PM360 before eventually the siren goes off. As suggested above do I just take the siren off of the wall and smash it up with a hammer or sledgehammer? Is there a more elegant way or is it just brute force? Quote

If I can remove it without damaging I’ll try and sell it on eBay 3 hours ago, Logan said: To remove the siren off the wall 1. Remove siren lid 2. Unplug battery in siren 3. Unscrew siren from wall 4. Sell it on ebay and get a better alarm ha might just do this. When I take the lid of it has a warninG about electrics but it can only be the battery as it isn’t wired in. Assume just disconnect it and it’s fine? Nothing else I need to be aware of when disconnecting? Quote

Hi, we have this same problem but have a problem finding the WiFi, can you help at all? What did you do - did you get a new panel or replace the whole system? Quote
