Smart Electrics Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Monteey this is normal mate My new contract is to March and then if BT think I am good enough to keep then they will offer a full term contract. (They should as I have already done 5 years so far) The reason for this new style employment was the result of BT being stuck with bad and untrainable staff who did not meet the grade. Back in the old days it was very hard to be sacked or laid off if you were no good. You should have no problems though as you have a engineering in ELV products. Give it a go you will have nothing to lose really and your training can be come in use if you wish not to stay. Employers love to see a BT type training certificate. Also its nice to know your kit is worth thousands of pounds gives you nice worm feeling that you are using kit that know one in the world has yet

Smart Electrics Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I believe its to stop attracting poor Intruder alarm engineers who like to build there own kit up by acquiring bits of BT kit.
