Grey is L3 or N with a blue sleeve or marker. using Black as N is 'discouraged'. That's right isn't it? I also think they where daft at the time, mainly for turning a neutral colour into a line colour but it's done now and in line with all countries in and around Europe so can't really complain. Quote

I always wondered, back in the 70s when we harmonised flex, was that to make all colours the same as the emerging EC/EU, to eventually allow electrical goods to be sold anywhere, or was it as much to differentiate between flex and fixed building wiring?
