Anyone use these VoIP convertors?

Take an analogue phone connect to the box like a Cisco 188 or whatever it is and use it as an IP phone ?

If so does it just connect into your existing cloud or sip connections as another device?

You can convert using an ata but may as well get a device that is native, what service?

It's centre using PA system they switching to bt voice express cloud , they have a phone analogue already connects to PA system one of those polycom things as they do conference calling and put audio through to pa

The polcom is available IP

But I wanted to see how I can some of there analogue devices into the system if possible

Ata converter then will give you a pstn port

And that will just hop on to IP service?

I recall having a massive ball ache trying to get an ata converter working...

Either be much cleverer than me, or better still have tame IT muppet who know what he's doing...

Today's massive ballache was having to drill an  801 lock off the fire controls either my key broke it, the lock was broken or it have been changed from 801 by the last people to touch it ?

I use Obi 110 (Obihai), there is a UK VOIP forum from which you can download a UK settings config file which works a treat.

Without that I would have struggled not with the SIP side but the endless options for line capacitance, ringing cadence, etc.... to make UK phones just work.

There is also a 100 model but I forget if it's an adaptor for the lineside or handset side. The 110 does both. I've had mine powered up continuously for about 4 years

now and with the UPS it's never knowingly had or needed a reset.

This a piss take for today's date?

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

In the sense that it appears Obihai are history themselves, I suppose it is!

Looks like... Polycom themselves are the new owners. They have kept the Obi reference in model names

Never realised Obihai was US based always assumed 100% chink-but-not-tat
