Brian c Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I don't see any harm in telling you how to exit from the engineering mode!! enter engineer code and press ESC (escape) If you don't know......ask.

jb-eye Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Hi,Can someone please tell me how to exit from "Engineers Mode" on the Galaxy 16 and return to user mode? 32514 Had a customer on this morning with a Galaxy "dont know how to change codes". Went through this and also how to download user instruction from our web site, still cant do it. Does he want engineer Yes but wont pay. By this afternoon he demands our eng code and we are rude because we said NO. Does he want engineer, not if it is going to cost, We are at stalemate. What would you do. Jef Customers!
Guest Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 What would you do. 32655 Sounds like a customer that's probably more trouble than he's worth. If he's a decent sized contract I'd consider posting a set of instructions to him, even though he is being unreasonable. The other option, which might not be the best customer relations ploy, would be to strangle him, but don't expect a call when the next service is due!
Chris Teague Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Jef, I had a similar customer demand the same when working for another company. Got right stroppy stating it was his right to know, as he owned the system. I let the MD sort it then, but on joining my present firm & taking over as manager, I amended our terms & conditions to state that Eng code is a code that can alter programming parameters and is an Eng function / access right only and will not be disclosed to the client and we have the right to change it when we wish either by an Eng on site or by remote access. They have to sign our terms & conditions to accept this or we will not take them on. Discussed this with our SSAIB inspector a while ago too & no probs. Don't know the NSI policy on this one though? We will always default a system on the odd occasion it may be taken over if asked. Guest Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I could understand it if he could do something with the eng code but as he can't manage to get it into the users menu I can't see how the eng code will help him. I think he's just shouting out buzzwords to try and scare you Jef.
ian.cant Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Seeing as the customer is always right, go to site change the engineer code to default and leave him with it.
