Bigsmudge Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 I have an accenta G3 which has been fine for some years Recently there has been a problem with a door contact causing false alarms I have changed both the contact and the magnet twice But now the alarm wont set I link out the circuit in question (5) and the alarm sets so you would think faulty cable or faulty contact yet the contact bells through to the panel when tested with a multi meter and appears to work perfectlyThe alarm works when the circuit is linked out but wont set when the contact is connected as said i have tried 2 new contacts but still no joy Any Ideas ?? MrHappy Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 you got a tamper circuit on this contact ? Quote Mr Veritas God
datadiffusion Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Sets when linked out at panel end or contact end though? Quote So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
PeterJames Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Its most likely a short between tamper and circuit, are there any spare cores on the cable? Quote

james.wilson Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 try metering between all cores ie red to blue, red to black, red to yellow etc to ensure you dont have any resistance between cores you shouldnt 1 Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Bigsmudge Posted May 27, 2020 Author Posted May 27, 2020 Problem solved As its domestic with very little chance of tampering (yes i know its not to standards) Ive linked out the tamper circuit and everything now works fine MANY THANKS saved me a lot of head scratching Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 I wouldn't say solved but it shouldn't be an issue for a while I would hope. Quote
