Hello, 

Can anyone tell me whether the power supply to the  ms1000 control panel is off a 3 pin standard adaptor  or hard wired from the consumer unit?  I understand the ms2000 and ms8000 are powered from a 3 pin adaptor. 

Hope you can help

It has a 12 volt 500ma plug in adapter

Why didn't you put the plug top on?
