Rob H Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Hi all, I am after a little bit of advice regarding my home alarm. I have a Honeywell ADE Gen4 alarm panel and Honeywell Viper Sensors on my windows. One fo the sensors took a bit of a whack during some house work and, as a result, the house alarm went off. I entered my code to silence but now both the Tamper and Day LEDs are lit and the keypad is unresponsive. I try to enter my code to reset the system but nothing happens. Has anyone any suggestions on how I can reset the alarm so I can set it again? Thanks Rob. Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 You have triggered the tamper causing the alarm to lockout. It's possible the sensor is damaged inside, worth having an engineer check over the system if you are not sure. Quote
Rob H Posted May 27, 2020 Author Posted May 27, 2020 Thanks for the reply. Once I've had a look at the sensor, would I need to use an engineer to unlock the alarm or is it something I could do myself? I'm by no means an expert but I have changed a few sensors on an alarm in the past. Thanks, Rob. Quote

sixwheeledbeast Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 When the tamper issue is fixed your code and reset should restore the system to "day mode" with no tamper condition. Quote
james.wilson Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 As above you need to clear the tamper fault then the system can be reset. It won't reset while the tamper remains active Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Rob H Posted May 28, 2020 Author Posted May 28, 2020 Hi all, Thanks for the advice. Managed to look at it today. Not sure what had happened but I just gave the Viper Sensor on the window a tap and it went out of the tamper mode and all is well again. Thanks again Rob Quote
