Hi,

I have a ADT Visonic powermaster 30 wireless system, That has a trouble warning. I have accessed the control panel (this is a visonic control panel without a keypad) using Alarm Install and can see the system trouble warning is listed as GSM NET FAIL. I am unable to clear the error as the System is in a not ready state due to the warning.  If I reboot the system, the error clears temporarily but then returns.

Can anyone help how to clear this error, the manual does not help.

Thanks

thank you for the link,  I am out of Contract with ADT... -  They are asking for quite a lot of money to send an engineer to have a look, I have reached to several independent engineers and the response is either,

As it is ADT, I will not be able to access (ADT locked)

or

I can come and look, but if I cant get access, you still need to pay call out charge.

Are there any ADT engineers on here who do private work?

It should be easy enough to default, and most engineers worth their salt should be able to default it. But there is the rare off chance that it is locked, so noone could guarantee to default it, but it would be rare if they couldn't. ADT have different codes for different areas so you would need a local ADT engineer, if you could find one within your budget that is.

Another option is committing to replacing the system for something more open. You would have to replace everything tho so it's going to cost either way.

ADT Visonic run on a different frequency so if you have any faults your going to need them at that point anyway.

Hi, an update for the forum.. I did some further research and decided to try something. I removed the GSM module from the unit and connected via Alarm Install app and confirmed GSM module had been removed when the system identified it was, Currently all the system errors have been cleared and the system sets and unsets as expected.

Pretty pleased to be honest, I have learnt so much trying to solve this one

Changed Batteries

Discovered Alarm install and accessed control panel

Cleared Tampers troubles

Removed GSM unit and cleared GSM Net Fail.

Found this whole experience quite frustrating in regards to industry support for these units, but also really interesting solving each step myself.

Hope this helps someone else going forward

Well there's loads of old parts marked adt on eBay so as long as your security is just a DIY thing ,and not protecting much of value to you , should be all good

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your experience, we are in the same situation... we were told by an ADT salesman that we could use our alarm system as bell only for free after the end of our monitoring contract... now we discovered that ADT are charging quite a fortune to modify the system to work as stand alone !

Could you please give us further details on how you achieve to modify your alarm? What is "alarm install", an app? Hiw did you clear the error message on the alarm ? (We also have gsm net fail) ? What did the gsm unit look like?

Thank you a lot in advance

Ben
