I have a Scantronic 9448 alarm system, it looks very old and was in the house when I bought it last year.

Recently the internal alarm has been going off and the tamper light coming on.

I have read that this could be a battery problem but when I open the box there is no battery.

Can I just disconnect the power to stop the alarm going off randomly u til I get a new system put in?

More or less yes

If there's a bellbox outside it may die quickly , or ring for 20 mins

Worst case ladder hammer

I've thought about the bellbox as I've no ladder so I don't want it going off.

But I've had the power (trip switch) off/on recently moving plug sockets and the outside alarm never sounded, would that suggest it won't go off when I disconnect the power completely?

I appreciate your reply, thanks.
