James R Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Hi all, is there a staple gun that will fix into masonry? Electric or not- from what I've seen even the battery staple guns can't do it... Any one have any recommendations? Regards Quote

james.wilson Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 If its for fixing cables in a fire proof way etc then yes spit nailer. You can get hardened nails for the battery mailers but I've never tried them Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
sixwheeledbeast Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 As I understand it they are moving towards cabling being at least LSZH and not allowing plastic containment to be used in the next amendment of BS7671. Not only due to failing of containment/fixings during a fire but due to toxic fumes and poor vision when trying to escape. I mention this for those using YT2 galv support clips. I think there is still room for innovation in fire proof fixings for all surfaces, unfortunately cheapest options always win. Quote

We would go low smoke for all other cables in commercial installs t+e, flexes etc.. . I suppose bs7671 covers elv systems or does it? Those regs can be very vague. Like the look of those fire clips where you just drill a hole and hit em In. Quote
