Chris002 Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Hello I am wondering if someone could give me some pointers on the settings. My friend has just taken over a workshop with a 9800 alarm we had to do a chip reset due to a crash when there power failed. I have got it working but having trouble setting the entry settings. It goes off as soon as you walk in or now got it set so you have to put entry code in twice or it goes mad after a bit. I can not get the panel to give the worning when you walk through the door. I am wondering if any one could help thanks chris Quote

james.wilson Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Assuming you have set the relevant circuit correctly then it may have an nvm issue. It's very old now Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
sixwheeledbeast Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 If it's been reset, do you know if the rest of the panel is programmed right? I have known them to not save some settings you program in when they are dying. Really wants replacing if you want it to be reliable. 1 Quote
norman Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 As above these have a habit of the NVM going faulty, needs to be reprogrammed from scratch, and fully testing to ensure it doesn't spaff the programming again on power loss. Quote Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
MrHappy Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 IIRC The first door or device which see you enter = Final Exit Any other device after this which is part of the entry route needs to be Entry Route the 9800 dates back to 1989 ish, personally I'd rip it off the wall & stamp it... Chris002 Posted December 10, 2020 Author Posted December 10, 2020 It was installed in 1992 it only needs to work for a couple of years at the most then properly being replaced due to building modifications. I'll try that thank you. Quote
MrHappy Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 so just 28 years old... & there's nothing of any value in this workshop which needs insurance? Quote Mr Veritas God
