lmor1 Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 My vistronic MCM 140 keypad has stopped working, when I try to put my code in to arm my system, it beeps and the led turns red after the third press of the digit keys, so cannot out my full code in. I have changed the battery but still no joy. Any assistance would be great Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 I assume this MCM140 is connected to some obsolete one way Powermax thing? It could be out of range, lost it's programming/ faulty. Only seen one it was a pain... As usual with the old Powermax stuff delete and re-enroll can fix or it maybe for the bin. Quote
james.wilson Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 prove a range issue by taking the device to the panel. lmor1 Posted August 7, 2021 Author Posted August 7, 2021 Hi, the keypad is connected to a powermax complete system and has been working fine for the last 6 years. I can’t enroll it again as I would need the installers code to go through the menu. I did try going through the menu to enjoy keyfob and when the system transmitted, I pressed the keypad keys and no change on the main control panel. Quote
PeterJames Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Disconnect batteries move keypad nearer the panel reconnect batteries Quote

sixwheeledbeast Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Have you tried asking the installer? I was assuming DIY. Quote

lmor1 Posted August 8, 2021 Author Posted August 8, 2021 Thank you for the comments, James I tried removing the batteries, reinstalling them and trying to connect to the system but the system still says transmitting and not picking up the keypad signal. I did contact the supplier, however they are wanting a fortune, so just thought it was a simple fix I could do. Looks like I maybe need a new keypad anyway. Quote
sixwheeledbeast Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 Training engineers and running a business 24/7 to fix this stuff costs money. I don't know what a fortune is relevant to what you are protecting. If you think they are trying to rip you off then see if someone else will take over the system. Although you will do well to find somewhere that wants to take it on without recommending replacement. 1 Quote
