Hi All

Around 2010 I had a Risco Agility (version 2 I think) alarm installed and it has worked swimmingly ever since.

At the end of last year I popped some new batteries in the external sounder but couldn't clear the 'low battery sounder' warning on the display, (changing the batteries were the limits of my skills!) so I called in an alarm company to save the day.

The alarm company (well, a lone guy working for himself) changed my new batteries in the sounder (advising that it's better to use well known branded batteries) and cleared the low battery code on the system.

All worked well for the last few months but the 'low battery sounder' has reappeared and the alarm guy is coming up with all kinds of excuses not to come clear the code, to the point where he is now ignoring my calls.

As I say, my skills are very limited but I have downloaded the Agility installer manual in the hope I can follow steps to clear the low battery warning.

I can see the instruction to press the * button, followed by ##REMOVED## (the default installer code), but I'm lost after that. Any suggestions would be HUGELY appreciated ?.

Thank you, Rebecca

remove & replace the full system.

The batteries in the sounder will require replacing again as the device has gone gaga & now eats the batteries.

I programmed a sounder off over the weekend & 20 hours latter it decided to flag up line fault despite ever been connected to telephone line

You can default & reprogram them but they will keep doing weird & wonderful faults

I don't like working on these things, as above they do daft things. You end up power cycling them or reprogramming them to clear weird faults.

From a DIY POV you are already at the limit of your ability as you say, so your left with finding another installer.

You could put another set of batteries in and hope. You will likely be able to clear most faults with your user code, arming then disarming.

I would want to replace the system for something else if it wasn't as simple as batteries.

I'd look to replace the EWD, however the £ would be better put towards something different

Make sure the strobe option is set as Follow Bell.

I had a customer who had intermittent tamper faults sometimes taking days to restore. If the strobe was programmed as Follow Alarm it would activate on any alarm including tamper. Batteries lasted a matter of weeks.

I'd seriously consider replacing the Risco Agility kit with a Pyronix Enforcer. Risco is good but only to engineers who use it day in day out.
