Hi all

I'd like to say hello. Been installing intruder systems for approx 3 years now. Some access control and fire testing as well.

Came across this forum when trying to do a google search about the benefits of using PIRs with microwave technology built in, such as Texecom's dual techs.

Hope to learn and share experiences!

Dualtec normally means less likely to false alarm...

Depends on the environment, sometimes a quad is much better than a DT. Should only really use DT's in hostile areas like garages and warehouses, I wouldn't put one in my front room.

If you have a DT900 in the front room you'd have handy place to hang your hat

You'd have to be able to buy one first...

I agree it's over simplified to say a DT will have less false alarms than a PIR. You need to know how they work and fit to the environment. But experienced people in the trade understand this.
