Hello All.

Firstly thank you very much for helping on this forum. i have learnt alot.

I am currently installing a new visonic alarm system with VISONIC 0-1274-0 PIRs. I was wondering if someone can point to me where i should be positioning my PIRs.

For the living room i was considering position D as its not pointing directly at the window and away from the radiator.

For the open plan kitchen, i am a bit stuck for the best place due to windows, the patio door and the radiators. please can someone suggest if placing at 1 is the best location or should 3. 3 is within the 12m range of the PIR but i am not sure how accurate it would be given the proximity to the window.

I can put a PIR in both 1 and 3 if people think its worth doing.

I will put window sensors on the windows and the patio door.

I realise the advise on here is from the goodness of peoples heart so i will not be holding any of you responsible should anything untoward was to happen to my house.

Thank you very much in advance.

Did you not have a hard wired system before? I would have used the existing cables and replaced the hard wired system personally

Thanks for the replies and feedback.

My previous system was a visonic wireless system and after reading the posts on here I have realised the PIRs were not in the best places as it was fitted by someone else.

Thanks for the position suggestions I will go A4 and position upstairs landing too. I thought above patio door wouldnt be a good option due to the the heat increase from the sun.

Kind regards
